UPDATE – HORNE ST

18 Months ago it was reported that a container that had been put in Horne St was causing an obstruction to local residents.  There was also complaints of load music coming from the Pioneer Works and plastic rubbish on the street.

Councillor Plummer has been emailing and talking to Lancashire County Council on a regular basis for the last 18 months, trying to get them to remove the container.  The County Council after much pestering from Councillor Plummer have issued an enforcement notice on the owner of the Pioneer Works.

Councillor Short and Plummer visited the Company and have had an undertaking from the company that they would keep the music down and ensure all plastic waste was removed from the street.  THIS WILL CONTINUE TO BE MONITORED.

CLAREDON STREET UPDATE

In May it was brought to my attention from a local resident that there was fly tipping in the alley behind Claredon St.  This was behind the old G4 building.

After conversations with the Council a notice was sent to the new owner to clear and secure the area.  There has been no action by the owner and I have had to contact the council to request legal action.  Legal action is now in the process of being sent out to the owner.

I will keep you posted on further developments as they happen.

COUNCILLORS CALL ON MANOR BROOK RESIDENTS

On 8th August Councillors called on residents of Manor Brook.  There has been instances in the area of persons unknown trying to enter houses in the early hours of the morning.  Councillors Paddy Short and Joyce Plummer called on all the residents to warn them to keep their windows shut and not to leave their keys on the back of their doors.

If any residents believe someone is trying to enter their home, they should call 999 at once.  Do not try to tackle or apprehend the intruders.
